We’ve partnered with AlixaRx, a national pharmacy organization to offer state-of-the-art, automated pharmacy dispensing systems coupled with local on-site pharmacy management in each Transcendent facility.

AlixaRx offers a complete pharmacy solution utilizing proprietary, automated dispensing technology and innovative software. The AlixaRx on-site dispensing system is a completely automated medication dispensing and delivery system. Located at the nursing facility, it enables immediate access to more than 400 medications. AlixaRx is the first post-acute care pharmacy to combine an Automated Dispensing Unit (ADU) that packages patient-specific oral-solid medications on-demand and an Electronic Medication Cabinet (EMC) that stocks unit-dose medications, including IV kits and refrigerated items, for first and STAT doses.

AlixaRx is the only national post-acute care pharmacy that provides an on-site dispensing system utilizing proprietary hardware and software. As such, the AlixaRx system is unlike any other currently available on the market. We have developed a number of unique and innovative features that detect and prevent errors, increase security, minimize site requirements and downtime, and maximize storage capacity.

Savings

Traditional pharmacies dispense medications in 7, 15 or 30 day supplies and bill the facility whether or not they are taken by the patient. With AlixaRx, oral solid medications are dispensed from the on-site system in daily supplies, and the facility is only billed for the medications that are used. As a result, drug costs are typically reduced 8-10% compared to the traditional 15/30-day punch card dispensing model.

Access                                          

The AlixaRx system provides 24/7 access to over 400 medications. Our unique, proprietary systems distribute all dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, liquids, inhalers, topical medications, refrigerated items, IVs and IV kits, and other supplies. The AlixaRx system enables our customers to admit higher acuity patients, even late at night and on weekends.

Safety

The AlixaRx system is significantly more accurate than traditional pharmacy dispensing. Millions of doses are dispensed each month from our systems with an accuracy rate that exceeds that of a traditional pharmacy.
